Humility & Kindness Bless Everyone!

Humility & Kindness Bless Everyone!

Bless Others by Demonstrating Kindness with Humility!

Generally speaking, great people are known for their acts of kindness, humility, and talents. But even if they’re not recognized, God has recorded their actions in His Book of Life. The success that comes from self-promotion and false humility is usually temporary. People can generally see through these false attitudes, and their benevolent acts will likely be considered arrogance and self-promotion. Also, God loves people who genuinely care for the needs of others for no purpose other than to help others.

It is good to invite friends and relatives over. We all enjoy these get-togethers. However, we should not limit our invitations to those closest to us. God said to care for others. There are many lonely, hurting people with no one to turn to.

Why not invite a widow or widower to dinner? How about a new family in the neighborhood who doesn’t know anyone – I’m sure they would like to meet some new neighbors. When I moved into my neighborhood, it was new. I cooked a roaster pan full of pasta, made a great big salad, and fixed garlic bread. I invited the whole neighborhood over for dinner from 4 to 7 pm. We had people scattered throughout the house. Everyone was happy to meet their new neighbors. No, it wasn’t a sit-down dinner – who has that kind of room? But people would show up, have dinner, and sit around for a few minutes, and then another group would come. It enhanced the neighborhood by creating new friendships for almost everyone who came.

Maybe someone is going through tough times. We should ask ourselves, ‘Is there anything I could do to help the situation?

If so, we need to do it! It helps not only others but also us. I don’t believe anything makes me feel better than helping someone else.

Jesus’s unselfish attitude should be our motivating factor. If we, as Christians, are to live as Christ lived (which none of us will ever fully achieve, but we should certainly try), we need to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.

“God blesses those who are kind to the poor. He helps them out of their troubles. He protects them and keeps them alive; He publicly honors them and destroys the power of their enemies. He nurses them when they are sick and soothes their pains and worries.”   Psalms 41:1-2 LB

God provides a much more comprehensive range of persons to minister to than our established relationships.

By demonstrating God’s love to everyone, people realize we are good, honorable people who are not arrogant but genuinely care for the needs of others.

In the grand scheme of things, who do you think is happier in the long run? Someone who needs to protect their status with their small band of followers, or someone who loves everyone and tries to help whenever and wherever they can?

“Then the King will say to those on His right side, ‘Come, you who have been called by my Father. Come into the holy nation that has been made ready for you before the world was made. For I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave Me water to drink; I was a stranger, and you gave Me a room. I had no clothes, and you gave Me clothes to wear. I was sick, and you cared for Me. I was in prison, and you came to see Me,’ Then those that are right with God will say, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You? When did we see You thirsty and give you a drink? When did we see you a stranger and give you a roo? When did we see you had no clothes, and we gave You clothes? And when did we see You sick or in prison, and we came to see You?’ Then the King will say, ‘For sure, I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of My brothers, you have done it to me.’”         Matt. 25:34-40 NLV

It seems the happier I am with who I am as a person, the happier I am with life in general.

The Golden Rule:

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  Luke 6:31 & Matthew 7:12
